So working here im experiencing may different cultures, and have come to appreciate some....and maybe not so much others.
I find certain cultures such as the English are very polite, don't complain much, are great at queuing, they're patient, listen and join in the Preshow.
However there are other culture's that don't appreciate the reason for queue's, are unaware of others around them, cannot follow basic norms of human behaviour....and thats my english politeness coming through...!
I dont know sign language...not much anyway xcpt for the usual wave for hello and goodbye, and some obscenities....but i would assume furiously shaking my head or finger would account for No, and pointing at someone's camera, or making pretend camera taking positions with my hands (button clicking included) would be obvious to most that i am trying to communicate with them that you are not allowed to take photo's. Someone please correct me if i am wrong.
I appreciate that when i am far away from people who may not understand english...or my newly aquired americlish accent, that it would be difficult for a person to understand my instruction to "move down to the end of the row"....and it may even be difficult to notice everybody around you moving down to the end of all the other rows......and especially when there is about 50 people to your right standing up waiting for you to move down, and gesturing you to move down. And maybe even after 3 minutes of being sat there and realising that all the lights in the theatre are still on, the movie has not started, there are 50 people stood up with nowhere to sit...there are 50 seats to your left unoccupied and there is a Shrek employee furiously waving infront of you, red in the face, gesturing you to stand up, and move down to the end of the row....and there are around 230 other people around you watching....and laughing.
maybe its just me.
Maybe I should learn some new languages.
I bet they would understand if i used my obscene sign language though.

Cold!!!!!
So it got cold.
Really cold.
So cold, as I stepped outside on sunday, i walked straight back into the house, put my jeans and sweater on (yes i said sweater...its easier to just say american phrases for now at all times!) before setting off on my bicycle.
However....skinny jeans and riding a bicycle, most deffo do NOT go together well! WHATSOEVER, it felt like i was riding in 5th gear instead of 2nd, and i could hardly move my legs. Up the bridge i was ready to cry. And the icy wind in my face was NOT helping either. So i finally got to work, and i was pretty warm, probably because of riding my bike, as i normally arrive at work in a sweaty mess, so i didn't even think about checking out a coat. Now what I probably havn't shared with you all is how wardrobe works. We arrive at work, go to our desk, and request our size and themed uniform. In my case its size 12 pants, and XS tunic for shrek 4d. When i need them i get the spats, hat, belt and whatever other accesories ya need...it's were you would request a coat from too! So i got my normal uniform and walked over to my work location......
I walked into the building shivering! Luckily there was a coat left there from the day before...in a large....even the XS coats are huge at shrek, so i put the large on, and wrapped it round myself twice, and jazzed it up with my belt over the top to keep it in place whilst giving myself a better figure!!!!!
But really, thats how cold it was, i had to wear a coat...and i left my coat on indoors until 2pm as well!!!!!no lie!!!! twas freeeeezing!
I struggled on my skinny jeans and bike ride home aswell. shame.
So the next day, once again i had my layers on...espeically as i set off on my bike at 6am, to start work at 7am! it really was ridiculously cold! i was shivering all day. Tom said it was 3 degrees warmer than the Isle of Man that day. only 16 degrees! and IOM was 13!!!!!no lie!!!
Anywhoooooo, yesterday me and Becca went shopping to buy jumpers and cardi's n things to keep us warm....and the temprature decided to warm up again. gutted! And then we came home to discover our AC was broken! it was 80 degrees! i sweated all night, it was horrendous! So we went to get it fixed today, and thankfully its back to a nice 70!!!!So yeah, thats about it for the updates me thinks! Another day off tomorrow, then back to work on friday yea baby!
Im sure there will be a rant soon enough though!

First ever Shrek mini-rant
Indeed.
unbelievable i know...i <3 Shrek
and i do...even though i watch the same 15minute film like 15 times a day or something ridiculous
i love it.
Its the guests im gonna rant about.
What part of the following speech do people not understand?
" Rule number 2 - ABSOLUTELY, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER IS ANY KIND OF FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO TAPING ALLOWED AT ALL, so put away your camera's...including those secret kind you think we can't see you hide behind your hand, that's right put them away or you will recieve a flogging!!!!!!!!!"
I normally accentuate this even further when many people have been flashing away with their camera's...and im not sure why but this SERIOUSLY bugs the HELL outa me, i've never gotten so wound up about guests before, but when they continue to ignore me and take photo's it really twists a nerve.
So the last couple days I have had stupid guests who have decided to annoy the hell outa me, so instead of getting my guests to shout "oh no" when i say flogging, i have had them say "no camera's" instead....seems to be working a little i guess, but people are so stupid....im gonna actually flog one of them someday!!!
stupid people!!!!!!!
mini rant over for now....will probably come back to this topic though!

HHN
So, its october, the scariest month of the year...and here at Universal Studio's we deffo celebrate this terrifying time.
So to assist in my duties here, i have been watching scary movies. Now i love horror films anyway, they are my favourite, i like to be scared and jump whilst watching a movie, gets the blood flowing and the heart pumping...
However, i just went to watch Paranormal Activity.
Has to be THE most HORRIFYING film I have EVER seen in my entire life.
My family and close friends will be the first to tell you all how i tend to narrate films and tv programmes and what not, not delibrately, but my mother likes to say that she needn't watch anything anymore, she'll just listen to my reactions....But when im in a cinema i can hold it in pretty well, remain calm and quiet aside for the few odd gasps.
This was something totally different, other than myself EVERYBODY in the theatre were reacting to what was going on. I screamed about 3 times...one of which was a prolonged hysterical scream..joining others in the cinema, after about half way through every time the scene switched to the evening/night i cried....cos i was so scared, i couldnt even control it my eyes were just leaking....the last 20 minutes of the film i was watching through my fingers, and jumping and repeatedly saying i wanted to leave the cinema. If it wasn't for my company i would have walked out. im not even exxagerrating, quite a few people left the cinema during the film. It is definately the scariest thing i've ever watched, i cant even get it out my mind, im totally freaking out right now and i don't think i am going to be able to sleep for a while....not without nightmares anyway. I can't get rid of the images in my head im literally terrified! When i left the cinema i could hardly put my glasses in my handbag i was shaking so much!
So...if any of you out there wants to be utterly scared by a film i fully recommend it...however there is no way ill be able to sit through that again i physically cant, i am mentally and emotionally scarred for life.
HHN = Halloween Horror Nights here at universal studios is on thurs -sun evenings with scary houses and scare zones with people chasing you with chainsaws etc, the most popular halloween event in orlando/florida possibly even america....and it is pretty scary. If you have ever been to the scary house/dungeon thing at madame tussauds or outside blackpool pleasure beach - it's similar to that...only its an entire theme park not just one room/floor/building. One of the houses - SAW I have yet to accomplish, I am an utter wuss, and so scared when going through the houses i literally hid my face in poor Tom's T-shirt so i couldn't see what was happening and screamed at every puff of air nearby or loud noise. He was deaf and his shirt was stretched and he probably had nail marks dug into his arms/shoulders from this ordeal on Preview Night. As preview night went on i managed to become more brave....espeically throught the apocalypse scare zone, as this was ugly topless men, and i just focused on their fit 6-packed chests (even if it was make up) and ignored their scary faces as this made it less scary.
I figured one day when it was just me and Becca we could survive this without the boys...and we would do the SAW house alone. Boy was I wrong. As we entered it was only around 30-60 seconds before we decided we couldn't do it and escaped through the first possible exit. Not even lying...epic fail!!!!
This house is awaiting my return and i WILL finish it. Even if i don't technically see anything through the house cos my face is buried into some guys shirt.
