OMG BAT IN THE FLAT!!!!

seriously. it jst flew out of the air con or a cuboard or something, hit the fan and then fell behind the tv. Me Nic and Tom wer jst sittin in the living room on our laptops and jst seen something in the corner of our eyes fall behind the tv. We were like huh...what on earth. so Tom went to investigate, and stood on a chair beside the tv n started tapping the tv n it just crawled out from under the table.
Me and Nic promptly stared screaming and pushing each other down the corridoor as it started flying round in circles and shut ourselves into the bedroom. Nic was absolutely hysterical, and i was nearly weeing myself laughing.
Tom opened the screen and front door and had an umbrella out trying to get it out, and then nic started taking photo's and video's whilst letting out random screams of hysteria everytime the bat flew near her. I hid in the bedroom n was peeking through the gap n all i could see was tom spining round in circles with an umbrella, and nic ducking and diving in the corridoor. It was pure hilarious!
Then Tom threw me my phone and i rang our friends and all they could hear was me scream "THERES A BAT IN THE APARTMENT....ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHH" so they came running over and could hear me and nics hysterics from down the street, and then they started screaming when they came to the door and seen the bat flying around in circles. then the bat flew towards Nic, and she jst rolled backwards onto the floor. I was laughing so hard and screaming I couldn't breath!
Tom opened the umbrella and managed to get the bat out. Im still recovering from laughing so hard. They'll be a video on facebook!!!!

funny :)

I love USA

I tend to rant on here, thought it was about time for a nice post.

I bloomin love it here, im having the best time, im not missing home really, i dont have time to miss home. Im enjoying work more too, think its cos I've got to know the others that work there and get on well with them. its ace. I was breaker yesterday as well which means i get to cover other people as they go on their breaks, so i have to plan out who needs there break and when depending on what time they start and finish, it made the day fly by cos i was continually moving about onto diff turnstiles, exit n hard rock. felt a bit like i used my brain too cos i had to plan where i was going at what time to let people go. :-) also felt like i had been given a bit more responsibility...first step up the turnstile ladder hahaha! and i love talking to the people i work with by the time it gets to the evening and its quieter at turnstiles we can talk n have a laugh n dance about. i love it :-)

went to busch gardens the day before yesterday too, which is awesome, its deffo my fav theme park ive been too. went on montu aswell...a few years ago when we came to america with my family we went to busch gardens but i didnt have enough time to do the montu rollercoaster and i was so upset i vowed i would go again and do the ride...and i did yay! did the other roller coasters too including sheikra which is a 100 or 200 foot drop vertical. i did it once n thts it...never again haha! could continually go on montu and kumba, they wer my fav. and then seeing the animals too, i loved the lions n tigers :-) afterwards we went to citywalk for chinese then went to see harry potter. it wasnt tht good, but it was funny, this guy fell asleep inda cinema n was snoring....the whole cinema was laughing at him :-) love it.

we party a lot here aswell, everyones still in student mode, i think it will quiet down when the summer lot leave, but we all get on pretty well i love nearly everyone here, its gonna be so sad when they leave. deffo not looking forward to nicola going :( also theres a few people coming out in september, its gonna be a full house, gregs got a couple friends comin, immy n tom have their girlfriends coming and we've got our housemate from uni matt cumin too. gonna be amazing :)

i do love the usa

I like to rant about turnstiles...

people think they are so original and funny when they pretend to be "electrocuted" by the finger scanner, or scream when you touch their finger.
Sorry to break it to you guys, but this happens atleast 10 times a day...you're not original, and my laugh is from sympathy im afraid.

the whole Alyssa novelty has worn off also...i still get excited, but the only other people that share my excitement are the children called Alyssa under the age of 10. even 11 year olds look at me I've never seen a TV before or something. ahwell, ill save my enthusiasm for the under 10's. they even look at amazement at my name badge. hell yea.

i had a guy who thought it was hilarious to insult england. he didnt find it as funny when i ignored his ticket and took the rest of his party and left him till last did he? there's a message for you all.

also.... I love the people i work with. we are all on the same wave length. we all hate the same customers, and love the others. and we all rock out to the music at 8.30 :)
during the summer at 9pm they have a mini firework display thing, and so from 8.30 they play music. they play a decent song first, then limp biscuit numb at 8.35, then fratellis at 8.40, then MIB at 8.45, then some song about dancing at 8.50, then 8.55 is U2 and then 9pm is the music to the cinesphere firework thing. yea i know it in order haha! They actually play music all day but its the same bloomin songs - ET, Back to the future, Jaws and Blues brothers...over and over and over and over and over.

over and out

Just another mini rant

One more thing i wanna quickly rant about,

guests who are 100%, entirely, completely enormously certainly sure that they definatly used their first right index pointer finger. (by the way all fingers point, so saying pointer makes no difference in identifying one of your fingers) but that finger they are so sure about will not scan and match their ticket. it just wont. even when you've tried it 8 times. so when i finally politely pushely make them try another few fingers, and they finally try their left thumb and that works. and they look so sheepishly at you, and im just thinking, yea right, it was deffo ur right finger my bottom. and then politely say, ok thats fine, just remember its your LEFT THUMB for next time, and smile sweetly at them :)

normally when they are certain it was a particular finger. it wasnt.

also i miss english food. and tandoori chicken. and coco pops. and being able to withdraw cash or use my card for free. and hearing my sister sing.

Saturdays Suck

saturdays are soooooo busy at work, we hardly get time for a break man!!!!
And apparently people are more moody aswell, and snap at you and tell you that you dont know how to do your job and your machines don't work when infact they have sweaty/greasy/wet fingers that wont scan and its their own fault for not putting their finger on the scanner properly and being so impatient. the more they complain the longer it takes.

oh...today at work somebody called Marc Nichols came in, and i just thought of my daddy n missed home a little bit.

I get an Alyssa every shift aswell, which always makes me smile!!
I cannot wait for my next day off, work is so repeatitive, I like change!!!!! And i cant conversate with guests properly cos you have to just get them in the park, and keep the queue's down. gah! But i still love it here and being here, its worth it. totally need a foot massage tho!!!

Lobsterized

i got 2 days off...,yay...and for once their has been sunshine.....scorching hot sunshine....so hot that apparently applying 3 layers of factor 15 sun lotion within a period of 6 hours, after spending many short spaces of time including up to an hour unprotected in the sun at the bus stop previously....still burnt myself to a frazzle.

although after the excessive after sun application i reckon it will be a pretty awesome tan :) even if i look ridiculous naked.
but it was sooo painful yesterday...and my nose matchs the colour of my sunglasses....my red sunglasses. whoops. rudolph nose. thts gonna peel i rekon.

so anyway, my dear friend Roz came last night, and i took her round the park today. was amazing :) niice to be a guest instead of a worker and enjoy the rides :) still haven't had a turkey leg yet....will do that before i leave!!!!

have realised i should probably make a start on my uni work. but haven't. wonder how long it will take me to begin.....

ill keep yas updated :p

MAJOR CUTE ALERT

i thought this was blogworthy as it made my day.

"hi mish, your weely pwetty"

GRIN

and i was like, awh ur so handsome too, and let him thru the turnstile whilst my insides melted to gush, and was happy for the rest of the day.

Nic's Bday

well.

Nicola's parents came to surpise ehr for her 21st birthday, and we set it all up. changed her shifts at work so that she could spend more time with them, and whilst she was at work we decorated the pool with banners and planted her parents on sunloungers with papers to hide them, and then after Nic arrived we said "by the way, we have another suprise...AHEM" and her parents came out from behind the papers and her mouth dropped to the floor. was awesome.

We then proceded to have a wee house party.

Then on Nics actual birthday we checked into the portofino hotel - 4 diamond. We stayed in the bridal rooms, which shud be VERY expensive, for VERY little. seriously like $17 each. and the beds wer immense. will try to figure out how to post photo's. they had a beach pool too, which had a little waterslide...gooooood times. Then we went to hard rock cafe and danced in citywalk and went to a karioke bar.

Today we tok the water taxi this morning, and went on some rides before work, and i managed to get off work early and we went to watch Blue Man Group. Seriously been the best few days. Im craving that portofino hotel bed tho. wish i cudda slept in it on my own. Was sooooooo good. Were gonna test out all the hotels :)

MINI RANT ALERT-

today there was a thunderstorm at work, and it makes work so much more difficult, all the guests are impatient cos they dont wanna be gettin wet in the rain, n they get all arsy if i ask them to put their umbrella's down so we dont get hit by lightning, and everyone has wet fingers so the scanner dont work, and peoples tickets are wet n dont work either. and i jst got shouted at by the guests. was a hard day.
oh and the screaming and jumping i was doin due to the scariness of the thunderstorm. PAH!

but loved nics bday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Rant on guests

Some people seriously.

my job is to let people into the park at turnstiles, and some impatient guests blame me if their finger scan dont work, when really they cant even put their finger on the scanner in a civilised manner for the machine to recognise their finger. simple but people just cant do it. they wiggle their fingers or leave it there for a millisecond, instead of leaving the finger on it until the turnstile opens, n then u get people just trying to walk straight through without even having their ticket out. n i had this wee kid run into the turnstile n hit his "sensitive area"it was his own fault though, shouldn't be so impatient.

and people ask the stupidest questions...n we've had so many people try to get in with disney tickets. DUH! they seriously idiotic

Stuffs in and around

Yo all,

so thought i would let you guys know more about where i live and stuffs.

Ok, so in our little tiny apartments we have a dining area, living room and kitchen all together, and theres 2 bedrooms with en suites. 3 beds in the guys room and 2 beds in me and Nicola's room. We live with Tom, Greg and Immy. Its good!
We live right by a publix shopping thing and subway, BK, CVS pharmacy, blockbusters, some phone places, chinese, pizzaria and some other shizz!
20min bus journey, but would be ten if we went straight there, half hour walk to work.

yesterday i was on exit turnstiles, quite funny but VERY boring. had a slightly larger than normal woman fall over the turnstile which was scary i was like omg what do i do!?!?!? but she was ok! and then this little kid ran into the turnstile and hit his bits and jst collapsed on the floor in pain. was a good day!

going to order pizza now, yum!
