Yo,
ok so my first day at work included being so hot got sent on early lunch, and my turnstile didnt like me so i kept gettin loadsa problems and my fan didnt work. pretty crappy first day, but then my second day was miles better, finished earlier, my turnstile worked fine and people seemed generally friendlyier....maybe it ws cos it was a sunday?
Went for social security numbers today, and i have to work 3.15-10.30. im gonna be pooped cos ive been up since alf 6! Gonna go snooze by the pool now before work me thinks!
nothing really to rant about except how everybody else is off work and goin seaworld. meh.
OH, and yesterday 2 people from whitehaven came thru my turnstile, i was so excited!!!!! and ive met about 4 alyssa's now too. woop!

Thunderstorm and other stuff...
Ok, so its been a few days, so this could be a long one!
A few days ago, there was the SCARIEST thunderstorm i have EVER experienced in my entire life. For those of you that don't know, orlando is the lightning capital of the world, with the most lightning strikes across the world. 5am i woke with a start (this is unusual as NOTHING wakes me up - ask my family or my housemates...at uni i have 8 alarm clocks and still manage to sleep in for uni!!!!!) so anyway, i woke and all i could see was flashing lights, and at first i thought there was police or something outside...was very disorientating, and then all of a sudden there was an ENORMOUS crack right outside the window....so loud i jumped out my bed, and me and nicola screamed and i nearly started to cry, the thunderstorm was RIGHT above us, the loud crack was right outside our window....im not even joking, it was TERRIFYING, i was frozen in my bed, and we shouted for the boys to open our bedroom door cos we were too scared cos the doorknobs are metal!!!! it looked amazing out the windows and stuff but was soooo scary, and we couldn't get back to sleep, so we were awake an hour earlier than we needed to be, was so tired at work!!!!
Also...i know have a laptop...its a mini red acer notebook, soooooo cute, bought from wallmart :-D
i've had my first 2 days off these past 2 days, went out in orlando as well, was amazing, crazy crazy night, but one of the best nights out i've had. dont do heels out in florida tho!!!!! flats all the way, gonna have to invest in some pretty black sandals.....Mam...... :-D
We've had a move around in our apartments, a new guy immy has moved in and paul has moved out. that means four of us are from uclan---WOOOOOP!!!
figured out the buses too...i managed to get a bus for like ten minutes instead of over an hour!!!!3 times in one day :-D so the buses are going in the right direction now...nothing to do with me getting on the wrong bus....its just the buses going the wrong way :-D
and figured out how to work my cell...still cant txt england tho....im getting there!!!!
got paid today too...AWOOHOO!!!!

Buses are gay,...
Buses are gay...I would put more offensive words...not to offend you guys, but to insult the public transportation system in America.
So, Transportation first.... We have to get to work about half hour before we start, and the buses are an absolute joke! First bus we took....took an hour. First he stopped at Wallmart and did his shoppin...with the engine still running...... for 20 mins....UNBELIEVEABLE....then at the next stop, he stopped and ate his cake, and read the newspaper...for another twenty minutes......and then stopped at another stop to read more...and i swear he was doing it delibrately at this point cos we were all raging in the back of the bus!!!! Please note....everyday, it has taken about 7minutes for our personal bus to get us to work!!!!! So i missed my phone call from home :-(.
Thought id give buses another chance.... our bus this mornin didnt arrive, so when another bus came 20mins later (and we were worried we would be late for work) we asked the bus driver if he stopped at the back end of universal for us employees....he said yes so we all got on. He got to the front enterance of universal and told us all to get off, cos apparently he changed his mind...or just blatently lied to us. So we tried to walk through the park but we weren't allowed...however if we walked around the outskirts we were gonna be late for work (its serious if ur late!!!!) so we managed to find some very kind security guards who escorted us through the park. God bless security guards. We managed to get to our locations on time thankfully.
So...After work we went on a few rides...ended up at the front of the park, and so got on a bus there.....ive never been so upset/angry/exhausted. i cried for the last neck of the journey. BTW, we havn't had a day off yet!!!! This bus journey...tht should take 10 mins....took 2 hours and 20 minutes. no word of a lie. This bus took us miles in the wrong direction, we ended up on the same street 4 times....and then the busdriver kicked us off the bus cos we got to the end of the line....and then we had to try and find another bus (cos a taxi would have cost a bomb we were so far out!!!!) and got the same bus tht went backwards on ourselves. we ended up back at universal. after an hour and a half. which....inevitably....again....i missed my phonecall from home :-(
I have to get a bus tomorrow....i will be at the bus stop at 6.15am. just to make sure i get there on time. and if tht is a joke....i am selling my $50 bus pass for the month, and NEVER EVER EVER gettin an bus here EVER again.

So...my next rant is about international communication. ok so there's not much i can do about the time change......but apparently no phone will allow me to phone any english mobile or landline, so i cannot get hold of my family and friends. i have no laptop for skype yet...cos i aint had a day off to go and find a laptop for cheap, and my cell phone has decided it doesn't like me either. Im never in my apartment at a decent english time. Mam, if you're reading this....this is why you havn't spoke to me yet, im not ignoring you, im very upset that i still havn't been able to speak to you. I CANT EVEN TEXT!!!!! stupid piece of poo.
There....there is my rant. i feel a little better. not lookin forward to the bus service tomorrow.
oh yea...also....work....i might aswell be in a sauna the entire time....its soooooooooo hot and humid, i had to dry my body with my work shirt today before putting my own clothes on (the clothes get washed at work every day!) i sweated in places i didnt think exsisted...and i was in the shade all day....so when i start working properly....outside.....in the sunshine.....i don't even know what i'll be like. my feet r killing too. and i have a cold. runny nose/sneezing in hot weather is almost unbearable!!!!

But i still love beign here, nearly everybody is soooooo soooooo nice, and understanding, and when im not at work in uniform, the weather is fab for chillin and sunbathing and swimming.

First orientation day
Hi alll,
So, more thunderstorms....ahwell. crazy weather!
Been a bit up and down, with a couple waves of homesickness, but all in all not too bad!
I have a landline number and address, so let me know if u want it!!!
When we first got here, we were welcomed with pizza, awesome apartments, and the thunderstorm. Then yesterday we hung out at the pool, and joined with another apartment with the nicest italian carbonara (thanks Rick!) and garic bread (thanks Amy).
Were going out for food tonight, elephant bar restaurant....should be better than the bar-b-que place at lunch.....still feel sickly!
Still havn't bought my own laptop yet so short and sweet.

Arrival...
... I currently am surviving on 3 hours sleep since my "good idea" of not havin much sleep on sunday night so that i would be so tired i would sleep on the plane etc. Airoplanes are SO uncomfortable to sleep.
I have all my luggage, and a lovely home, but im not gonna write much, as i am tired, and borrowing my new housemates laptop!!!
We arrived,no problems with customs!! Waited at the airport for aaaaaaaaaaaaaages, got here in the humid hot sun, got our houses sorted, and arrived to find nothing. no toilet roll or anything, but then thunder lightning and ridiculous rain started.We still battled to the local shop to get breakfast n things in for tomorrow!
We got free pizza! and i was amazed to get free breakfast on the hour flight from manc-gatwick!!!!
Anywho, I'll do a proper update when i get my own laptop access!!!!
Also - my mobile aint working at all out here!
